World Workshop on Oral Medicine X
Call for Reviewer & Assistant Reviewer Application
Submission Period: 15th April - 15th June 2026
The Steering Committee of the World Workshop on Oral Medicine X is committed to encouraging mid-career level experts and early-career experts/senior trainnees in oral medicine to participate as Reviewers and Assistant Reviewers, respectively, in the next Workshop. The meeting is scheduled on 24 and 25 July 2028 in Recife, Brazil, and will be held in conjunction with the Brazilian Congress of Stomatology and Oral Pathology (SOBEP) meeting (25th-28th July 2028). We anticipate wide international participation, with representatives from all continents. If selected, this international meeting will allow Reviewers and Assistant Reviewers to interact with colleagues from around the world and to promote the specialty.
The Reviewers will assume primary responsibility for the projects assigned by the Section Heads and manuscript drafting. For the WONDER projects, the Reviewers will undergo preparatory training sessions that will ensure their readiness to conduct and complete the assignments.
The Assistant Reviewer position is not age-limited but will be preferentially awarded to junior faculty early in their careers (≤5 years out of training) or senior trainees in oral medicine. Past Assistant Reviewers are ineligible for the same position but are eligible to apply for a Reviewer position.
Each WWOM X group will have 2 Reviewers and 2–3 Assistant Reviewers assigned to them. The selected individuals will be assigned to a group and will be expected to commit to delivering the assigned amount of work in a timely manner. Assistant Reviewers will assist Reviewers on the project assigned and in writing the final paper(s). At all times the Reviewers and Assistant Reviewers will be guided by the group’s Section Heads. The applicants are asked to rank their top 2 preferences for the Workshop Groups they would like to participate in.
Funding Support
Travel and accommodation will be partially covered by WWOM (economy rate air travel capped at a certain amount based on your home region and 3-night shared accommodation at Recife Marina Hotel) to attend WWOM X. Reviewers and Assistant Reviewers will need to secure their own funding if they wish to attend the SOBEP Congress to be held following WWOM X. Attendance is encouraged since the summary of the Workshop groups will be presented.
